CHL Hahn (1886-1948): son of Rev. CH Hahn, grandson of missionary CH Hahn, born at Paarl, came to SWA with Imperial Light Horse in 1914; served in the field until May 1915, joined Native Administration Staff in Windhoek. Joined Col. Pritchard on journey to Ovamboland in 1915; joined staff of Major CN Manning in Ovamboland, Native Commissioner in Ovamboland until 1947. In 1937 went to League of Nations, in 1946 and 1947 to United Nations. Member of Native Labour Commission, 1947. Retired 1947, settled on his farm in the Grootfontein District, where he died in 1948. He was an authority on the customs and history of the Ovambos.
