Title to long - truncated: Image no. 12, entitled:"At the Shembe wedding. The third man from the left, with shield, is the bridegroom. Occupying the stage is a clowning woman. With an imaginary fountain pen she will soon write out the marriage certificate, and assuming the haughty benevolence she thinks appropriate to a white official, she will offer the certificate to the bridegroom. Below her, another woman reassembles the gifts that the bride has scorned".
