Does the National Archives give advice to individuals on preservation related matters?

Yes, the National Archives as the leading archival institution in the country provide such advice to the members of the public and organisations on how to care for their archival items.

Can I bring my damaged records to be repaired at the National Archives?

Unfortunately due to limited resources and personnel, the National Archives does not accept work from private individuals. However, members of the public can be advised to utilise the services of a private conservators.

Is it possible for a private person to receive training at the National Archives?

The National Archives only provides training to established archival institutions when proper arrangements are made. However, members of the public have the opportunity to visit the National Archives Conservation Workshop during Archives Week.
