Does the National Archives give advice to individuals on preservation related matters?

Yes, you can call 012 441 3200 and you will be transferred to the appropriate official to assist you. Alternatively you can contact preservation@narssa.gov.za

Can I bring my damaged records to be repaired at the National Archives?

The National Archives does not have capacity to handle work from outside. The Conservation Laboratory only works on National Archives records.

Is it possible for a private person to receive training at the National Archives?

Due to capacity limitations, the National Archives can only accept requests for training from governmental bodies with archival collections as a way to support the overall preservation of the country’s archival heritage.
