Glossary of Audio Terms
Refers to audio voice recorded with no editing. All recorded noise is still present in the audio
including, unwanted sounds, breaths and mouth clicks
|The process of taking an audio or video signal (in most cases, the human voice) and translating it into electronic pulses.|
|WAV (Waveform Audio Format)||
A wave file is uncompressed data, as close a copy to the original analog data as possible, and is
much larger than the same file would be in a compressed format such as MP3 or RealAudio.
A visual representation of the audio signal as displayed in recording and editing software.
